The club had a very successful Burns Supper tonight. It was the first attempt by the club at organising an event like this and it was made all the better by the fact that it was for couples as opposed to the usual men only dinners. The speakers were Sandy Stronach, James Biccochi, Margaret-Jane Cardno and our own Gordon Chegwyn. It was a very entertaining night and the standard of the speakers were first class. It is hoped that we can make this an annual event after the response we have received for it. We would also like to make a special mention to Ian Findlay who did all the organising and made sure it was a professionally run event.

There were some significant milestones in the Wick Academy v Fraserburgh today. Russell McBride made his 250th appearance for the Broch and Trevor Fleming made his 150th. Well done to both players and hopefully we will see a lot more yet.

While Russell and Trevor were clocking up big figures in the appearance table we had another youngster making his debut. Jason McDonald, who hails from New Deer, signed last week and made his first appearance for the club in the 2-1 win at Wick. It was a difficult fixture to play your first match with a long journey followed by a game on a poor surface but he coped very well and will be another great addition to the squad.

Broch got back onto the winning trail with a well deserved victory over Fort William. Two goals by Graham Johnston and one from Gavin Wemyss was enough to see off the visitors who had equalised through Ryan Haggerty.

Broch have a re-arranged fixture with Forres Mechanics at Mosset Park on Saturday 20th November. This game was moved due to Forres' involvement in the North Cup Final.
