CHARLIE DUNCAN
Charlie Duncan is a household name as far as
Highland League football goes. Charlie is arguably the best player to have
played in the league since the war and has won every honour available in the
league while playing for Inverness Thistle, Buckie Thistle, Peterhead and
Fraserburgh. He is the only person to have played Highland League football
in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. He also had a spell in English football
with Wimbledon, Crystal Palace and Chelsea before moving back to Scotland to
play with Montrose.
It was 1983 that he signed as a player for
Fraserburgh and made his debut in a 4-1 win over Lossiemouth. He took over
as manager in November 1984 and under his guidance the Broch have progressed
into a well respected team with a youth system that is the envy of the
league. |
